In less than a week the second Wicklesham CrowdJustice Appeal will be launched to raise funds for the High Court hearing on 14--15 June. I want to tell you about how CrowdJustice works. And then I have a few suggestions of how YOU can help me to get there. 2 E-MAILS IS ALL IT TAKES TO SPREAD THE WORD TO HUNDREDS MORE POTENTIAL SUPPORTERS! (Read on!) Let's get started today! 1) First the Appeal must meet an all-or-nothing target. Pledges will not be taken from donors until this is met. Then the Appeal will continue to the 'stretch' target of £20,000. 2) If I win the case, the court will award costs to me, which will include court costs and legal fees. So what happens to money raised that is not used, or is repaid through a costs award? 3) All unused funds raised through the Appeal will be returned to CrowdJustice. This is what happens next: - * Anyone who has made a donation of £1,000 or more will be entitled to a pro rata refund. (If 90% of the Appeal funds are returned to CrowdJustice, the donor will receive 90% of their donation, less processing fee.) * Donations of less than £1,000 will be retained for use by CrowdJustice, and the Campaign to Protect Wicklesham Quarry from Development can nominate how they are used, for up to 12 months. All remaining donations raised by the campaign through CrowdJustice will be donated to other Appeals or charities supporting access to justice. CAN I DONATE TO THE CAMPAIGN DIRECTLY? * YES! You can make a donation direct to WICKLESHAM COMMUNITY FUND, which is managed by 3 trustees. Here's a suggestion of how we can involve hundreds or even thousands more people – 2 e-mails is all it takes!
