A "delegated" decision to send Faringdon Neighbourhood Plan to referendum was taken on 16th September by V.W.H District Council - which the Council FAILED TO PUBLISH. Since there is a strict 6 WEEK DEADLINE from the decision date to launch a legal challenge, this looks to us like an attempt to keep the public in the dark until it was too late. Our barrister is now writing to the Vale District Council stating our intention to challenge the decision by seeking Judicial Review. We strongly believe the Neighourhood Plan does not meet the 'Basic Conditions' for a legal plan. Legal opinion is that we have strong arguments and positive prospects for success. CALLING ON OUR SUPPORTERS - WE NEED YOUR HELP! A CrowdJustice Appeal will be launched in 10 days to raise funds in order to proceed with this action. Regular updates will be sent out in the week leading to the Appeal launch date, in the hope that together we can meet our initial target in the first week. Unless we meet our target we shall not be able to launch a Judicial Review. WE CAN ONLY DO THIS WITH YOUR HELP! * We know you want to protect the Vale's rural landscape, its unique earth science SSSI, and its rare endangered plants and animals; * We know you do not want Faringdon's countryside and the valued landscape of the Corallian Ridge turned into urban sprawl; * We know you do not want 24 hour HGV traffic on the A420 serving a 20 acre logistics site on Faringdon's doorstep. * Many people have told us of THEIR vision for the Faringdon they want for their children; * Many of you have expressed strong disapproval of the landowner's role on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. * Many people have told us how the loss of this important site will affect their enjoyment of the place we live in. PLEASE HELP US TO MAKE THIS CHALLENGE BY SUPPORTING THE CROWDJUSTICE APPEAL! Get in touch with any questions, suggestions or offers of help to spread the word, by emailing: protectwicklesham@gmail.com. Please carry on spreading the word by posting these updates on Facebook and social media- and emailing friends, neighbours and any potential donors to let them know the CrowdJustice Appeal will be launched in 10 days time. Thank you once again for your support!
