COMMISSION TO STUDY TESTING FOR LYME AND OTHER TICK-BORNE DISEASES
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/statstudcomm/details.aspx?id=1515&rbl=1&txtbillnumber=hb490
Please note that this update is directed to residents of New Hampshire who can attend the upcoming August meeting in person.
New Hampshire friends,
"141-C:6-a Commission Established. I. There is hereby established a commission to study the use and limitations of serological diagnostic tests to determine the presence or absence of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases and the development of appropriate methods to educate physicians and the public with respect to the inconclusive nature of prevailing test methods."
I am the Chair of the Commission for the Study of Testing for Lyme and Other Tick-borne diseases. If you or someone you know has suffered from Lyme disease, or is a medical practitioner, who can attest to the inadequacy of the current diagnosis and treatment practices, please leave your email in a comment or send me a message at Leah.Cushman@leg.state.nh.us
The commission will be hearing testimony from patients in New Hampshire at the Legislative Office Building in Concord on August 23, 2021 at 9:00AM. Please make every effort to attend. We need to hear from as many patients as possible to convey to members of the committee how often Lyme goes undiagnosed, chronic Lyme is misdiagnosed, and the harm that comes to patients as a result. Your testimony will be incorporated into the development of the Commission's findings, which will be used to issue updated guidance to NH healthcare providers and potentially draft legislation.
Please share this information with anyone else you know who would like to testify.
Representative Leah Cushman (R)
Hillsborough - District 2
