Based on the handling of Covid-19; “sicken-in-place while we wait for the vaccine and denounce and fire anyone [1, 2] who promotes existing treatment options [3, 4, 5, 6] regardless of the death toll”..... I’m certain now that Dr. Joseph Jemsek’s viewpoint of the mishandling of Lyme disease is spot on:

It now makes perfect sense why Shapiro was appointed to the TBDWG and why Co-Chair Walker has referred to persistent infection after aggressive antibiotic treatment as a “religious belief” .... HHS must maintain the false paradigm at all costs because after three decades the lie now is just too big to confess.
A chronic relapsing seronegative disease does not fit the vaccine model and anyone who treats Lyme long term must be stopped as we do not want the public to have an excuse not to take the LYMErix vaccine. (LYMErix was pulled from the market in Feb 2002)
The only solution coming out of this TBDWG farce is yet another vaccine:
On Nov 19 th Baylor College of Medicine along with Texas Children’s Hospital’s Center for Vaccine Development announced that they received an $860,000 grant from the Department of Defense (DOD) to develop a recombinant protein vaccine for Lyme disease.
This work is supported by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, through the Tick-Borne Disease Research Program under Award No. W81XWH-20-1-0913.

Note: Dr. Jemsek announces the action by the North Carolina Medical Board to overturn their 2006 decision to restrict Dr. Jemsek’s medical license by rescinding and abolishing that wrongful decision. He was disciplined for prescribing long term antibiotics to treat chronic Lyme disease.
This is vindication for the patients suffering from this disease.
