Dr. Shapiro,
I would like to point out that you have not replied to my inquiry below dated Jan 7, 2020 as the highlighted question in that letter remains unanswered.
My positive Epstein Barr lab report sent to you on Jan 7th is not unique as patients who are chronically ill with Lyme often test positive for reactivated Mono and other herpes viruses which as you know are kept in check through a healthy immune system. A so-called “recent” Epstein Barr infection at age 55 should set off a red flag.

There are additional questions that I believe you need to answer:
Would an immunosuppressive infection be classified as a simple nuisance disease or a higher threat to public health?
Unlike the AIDS patient, Lyme patients who have become immunosuppressed from late stage chronic Lyme disease have been ignored for three decades.
The deliberate avoidance of the horribly sick Lyme community leaves these patients in a permanent debilitated state.

The advanced stage of Lyme disease is not a manageable chronic health condition as legislation all across America is indicating that we have a serious unmet disease threat wreaking havoc on public health.

“Spirochetes disseminate to the lymph nodes, bone marrow, spleen and brain within a week of infection [1]. Lymph node germinal centers, where B cells are supposed to mature and be assigned an immune system function, are rendered incompetent [2]”

That sounds pretty serious Dr. Shapiro especially when humans do not produce antibodies to a Lyme infection for 4-6 weeks after a tick bite!
Anyone who does not develop the bulls-eye rash after the tick bite runs the risk of missing the narrow window of opportunity for successful short term treatment. It’s like playing Russian roulette with your health.
In contrast you and your co-defendants of the RICO lawsuit have spent careers misguiding the medical community into believing Lyme is a simple nuisance disease [1] and anyone complaining of debilitating symptoms after the one-size-fits-all IDSA mandated treatment approach is somehow delusional.
The facts: Lyme disease is a serious life-altering/life-threatening infection that is destroying lives, ending careers while leaving its victim in financial ruin not only in America but worldwide as the identified racketeering scheme to downplay the severity of Lyme has left hundreds of thousands (if not millions worldwide) in limbo.
