Subject: Trends and Patterns in Lyme Disease: An Analysis of Private Claims Data
To: The Tick-Borne Disease Working Group,
Per the study below North Carolina has gone from the CDC declaring there was no Lyme disease 15 or so years ago to now declaring it an "emerging" state. Shows what happens when you exercise sufficient medical neglect: an unbridled EPIDEMIC!!

Dear Prof Rosenbaum,
With your distinguished background in health you should be well aware of the following: (Extracted from the attached letter to the editor of JAMA published Dec 18, 2018)
Controversies About Lyme Disease
https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/article-abstract/2718786
"It is well known that untreated streptococcal pharyngitis can progress to rheumatic fever, causing irreversible heart damage. Untreated syphilis leads to progressive disability and dementia, and untreated human immunodeficiency virus infection progresses to AIDS with significant disability and death. What happens to a patient with Lyme disease who goes months, years, or decades before diagnosis because of a false-negative serological test result?" [Missing bulls-eye rash, misdiagnosis etc.]
"Shapiro and Wormser do not discuss the consequences of untreated Lyme disease in their Viewpoint"
________________________
“Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome” after early treatment and untreated late stage Lyme of months, years or decades are two distinctly different disease states with the later going unrecognized for over three decades. Patients who have had a prolonged exposure to the pathogen are almost always incapacitated. Dr. Neil Spector from Duke University required a heart transplant after his Lyme disease went undiagnosed for years:
Professor Neil Spector: Duke Physician uses near-death experience to encourage patient self advocacy
https://www.bayarealyme.org/blog/story/neil-spector/
The severity of Lyme disease has been downplayed [1] while the public and medical community has been misinformed through an elaborate disinformation campaign sanctioned by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control as identified in the racketeering lawsuit in Texas District Court.
Latest in anti-IDSA/insurers lawsuit: Kaiser settles.

The misclassification of Lyme disease as a low-risk and non-urgent health threat has all but eliminated the funding needed to address this antibiotic resistant/tolerant superbug.
Patient testimony all across America is describing a disease that is destroying lives, ending careers while leaving its victim in financial ruin as the CDC and IDSA suppress evidence of persistent infection after extensive antibiotic treatment. The following letter addressed to past CDC Director Brenda Fitzgerald provides documentation that the CDC sat on evidence of treatment failure since 1991. (Positive culture and autopsy reports)

There are no Public Service Announcements informing the public that you could become horribly “debilitated” or die from Lyme disease as exposed in the “Under our Skin” documentary:
Under Our Skin - Extended Trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxWgS0XLVqw
Lyme belongs in the same health threat category as AIDS, Zika, cancer etc. and requires a Manhattan project [2] to understand the pathogenesis of this disease to determine how it disables its victim. Those who do become horribly disabled by the disease are denied disability.
It is time to fully acknowledge treatment failure and develop a new approach to ending the unimaginable pain and suffering that has gone on now for over three decades.
Will Fair Health turn a blind eye to what has been presented in this letter (so as not to rock the boat) and go about business as usual ignoring the evidence that Lyme disease has been deceitfully mishandled while leaving the disabled to fend for themselves?
A response to this inquiry is requested.
Respectfully submitted,
Carl Tuttle Lyme
