Subject: Important press release originally published in 1990

To all on this email list:

I would like to call attention to the following press release originally published in 1990 interviewing Dr. Allen Steere who became the principal investigator for the first Lyme disease vaccine licensed in 1998.

In this article Steere admits to persistent infection (chronic Lyme disease) as the Lyme disease spirochete is an antibiotic resistant/tolerant superbug.

Lyme was pigeonholed into its current status as a nuisance disease (hard to catch and easily treated) because a chronic relapsing seronegative disease does not fit the vaccine model.

The CDC has been ignoring the horribly disabled Lyme patient population and the NH Department of Health is not interested in how many patients’ lives are being ruined as a result of missing the extremely narrow window of opportunity for successful short term treatment.

If we acknowledge and track this growing class of patient where current antimicrobials fail  the NH Department of Health would have to report to the CDC; “Houston we have a problem!”

Acknowledging chronic Lyme disease would throw a monkey wrench into the current FDA fast track LYMErix 2 vaccine in clinical trials at Valneva (or any other Lyme vaccine candidate).

Please read the following 1990 article:

Lyme disease can remain dormant for years
https://www.upi.com/Archives/1990/11/21/Lyme-disease-can-remain-dormant-for-years/8201659163600/

Current antimicrobials DO NOT WORK and we have lost nearly forty years to vaccine development when we should have been focusing on finding a curative approach for this antibiotic resistant/tolerant superbug. This is an epic failure and cover-up by our Public Health Officials.

Respectfully submitted,

Carl Tuttle
