There is currently a need to install guard rails along Western Road & other highly utilized pedestrian corridors on campus to protect the public/students who walk these areas on a daily basis. As a former Western student I should have spoken up earlier about this problem as cars are continuously getting too close to walkers on campus. I recall a number of times thinking this as I walked down Western Road opposite the new Ivey building. At night, this stretch can be especially dangerous. While a guard rail might not have totally prevented such a tragic event as the one that recently happened on campus, I believe it is time to start building measures to help protect future generations of Western students who are loved.
