Waller County DA Elton Mathis - now infamous for trying to imply that Sandra Bland had a "mental illness" simply because in one of her old facebook video posts, she spoke to her followers about how she overcame depression through faith in Jesus - turns out to have even more sordidness in his past. The Rev. Walter Pendleton, a local Waller County pastor has stated that back in 2014, DA Mathis threatened him when he formally requested the county prosecution rates broken down by ethnicity. Rev. Pendleton went on to accuse the DA of "selective prosecution."
