Cat Calling refers to the act of shouting harassing and often sexually suggestive, threatening or derisive comments at someone publicly.

In a national poll on street harassment commissioned by End Violence Against Women they found that 64% of women asked had experienced unwanted sexual harassment. 

Despite this there is no specific legislation in the UK against catcalling. This is not an impossible task, France, Belgium and Portugal are just a few examples of countries where there are laws prohibiting this.
