In what amounts to a hard right coup Boris Johnson has become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom with the votes of 92,000 Tory party members (roughly 0.19% of the electorate), in a party who failed to win a majority in the general election of 2017 when they appealed for an endorsement of their then hard line Brexit strategy.
It is outrageous that this unrepresentative minority can now decide to take the country in an even more extreme direction than that already rejected by the electorate in 2017.
Please sign this petition to make clear that Boris Johnson does not have a mandate from the UK electorate to pursue a no deal strategy without submitting themselves to a General Election to endorse or reject their policies.
