There are no words that can describe what me, my family and especially my elderly parents have gone through these past 12 years since the loss of our beam trawler Mary Kate WD-30 due to inaccurately stamped stability book and inherently dangerous vessel.

Since we launched our website telling the story of the Mary Kate WD-30 and attached petition it has been heartening in every sense of the word to receive the level of support and kindness you have shown to us.

Last week our local Arklow Municipal Council passed a motion calling for an impartial investigation into all circumstances of the Mary Kate.

Hopefully this is a start that may lead to the above actually finally happening so lessons can be learned that will make these vessels much safer for their crew.

I will continue to update as things progress.
