Wang Wang was a gentle stray dog who never bit anyone and trusted humans deeply. In her final moments, she did not escape or fight back — she tried only to protect her newborn puppies, who were also tragically killed. Her trust was betrayed when a group of minors repeatedly tortured her, filmed the abuse, and circulated the videos online.

The cruelty was deliberate, prolonged, and coordinated, not impulsive. The perpetrators are minors, and China currently has no national animal‑cruelty law, meaning they may face no meaningful consequences. This case highlights a systemic legal gap affecting millions of animals and raises serious concerns about juvenile violence escalation.

It is also important to note that Jieyang is a major global manufacturing hub, producing goods for numerous international corporations. The normalization of extreme violence — especially among minors — in such a region raises broader concerns about community welfare and the social environment surrounding global supply chains.
