Thank you for the overwhelming support! It’s clear that Texans want and demand an anti-racist curriculum—your signatures helped get the attention of the State Board of Education members.
Earlier this week, we gave public testimony at the State Board meeting urging them to formally add this matter to their September meeting’s agenda (links to a video and transcript of our testimonies are below).
Additionally, we will be speaking with a few board members in the coming weeks and are looking forward to hearing what steps they will be taking to address this issue. We want to incorporate more voices into this process, so we are planning to create a forum, whether via zoom or google form, where Texas high school students, alumni, and community members can voice their concerns and ideas.
