The Ongoing Metal Detectors Saga: After the murder of 2 Israeli Police officers last Friday and the capture of stockpiles of homemade weapons on the Temple Mount, Israel decided for the first time in 50 years to install metal detectors and ramp up security procedures for Arabs. After nearly a full week of Arab protests, the WAKF boycott of the Mount and growing complaints from Jordan, Saudi Arabia and now even the United States, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is already considering scraping the metal detectors altogether. This is not just about the metal detectors and security, but more about Israel's right to decide how the Mount will be protected and governed. Police Take Action against Jews for Praying: Yesterday after a number of Jews tried to pray, worship and bow down on the Arab/WAKFless Temple Mount, the Israeli Police to punitive measures by simply shutting the Mount to Jewish pilgrims. Rabbi Jeremy Gimpel documented his attempt (video attached) to try to bow down on the Temple Mount but was arrested and removed by police. Petition Passes 1,000 Signatures!
