WHY I HAVE BECOME A POLITICAL ACTIVIST IN SOUTH AFRICA.

Dear supporter of this petition

‘Evil prevails when good men (and women) do nothing.’

For the past nine years, I have continued to serve my congregation in Cape Town diligently and most of my activities were concentrated in church and community work in a local township of Cape Town.

It took all my time, attention and personal resources of both myself and my wife, as well as those who were assisting me in the ministry.

I wanted to remain ‘neutral’ and preferred to remain isolated from the ‘worldly’ distraction of politics. However, since the Black Monday march that took place in October 2017 as a result of the murder of Joubert Conradie, a commercial farmer of Paarl, I could no longer remain ‘neutral’ and uninvolved.

South Africa belongs to all of us, black and white, and together we must work out a better life for our children to face a daunting future.

We cannot sit quietly and watch how South Africa is being burned to the ground by radical, black, Marxist, groups like the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Black First Land First (BLF). Both these groups and others are working night and day to improve their voter support in the 2019 National and Provincial elections in South Africa, while we continue to pray and preach in our churches with the intention not to become ‘contaminated’ by politics.

I was compelled to search for a credible, strong, bold political leader who has the gall to publicly challenge the likes of Andile Mngxitama of the BLF and Julius Malema of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), the leader of a radical Leninist, Stalinist, Marxist party that promotes a violent revolution in South Africa with the intention to seize power, albeit through the ballot box for now.

Now there are many good opposition leaders in South Africa, but for 2019, I prefer to support Mosiuoa Patrick ‘Terror’ Lekota, the leader of the Congress of the People (COPE) for the following reasons:

1.   Lekota has taken a bold stand in Parliament and publicly in defense of the commercial farmers of South Africa to stop the senseless killing of all South Africans, but especially farmers, who are the producers of food, and without whom, we will not survive;

See the following video clips where Lekota speaks on stopping farm murders in South Africa:

2.   Lekota has fiercely and boldly defended our constitutional right in Parliament and publicly for us to enjoy our property rights as enshrined in section 25 of our South African constitution and he has taken a tough stand against the expropriation of land without compensation:

See the following video clips where Lekota speaks on defending our property rights against what the ANC and the EFF proposes:

Lekota has made an appeal for our support in stating the following:

‘With your vote, we can defeat those dark forces intent on seizing people’s land without compensation.

With your vote, we can craft a set of policies to attract investment and create jobs.

With your vote, we can re-create the hope of a better life for all – and ensure government by the people and for the benefit of the people, under the Constitution.

With your vote we can re-build our nation into one in which we all stand united and committed behind a common vision - so succinctly and poetically set out in the preamble to our Constitution.’

His appeals have resonated well with me.

There are those who have decided to vote for other opposition parties, and that is fine. The main objective would be to reduce the ANC’s support of 62% to much less. If the ANC and the EFF collectively receive 66% of the vote, they may still amend section 25 of the constitution to diminish our rights to own property. This we must prevent at all costs!!

Our petition has grown phenomenally to 266,000 signatures and still growing each day.

Please watch the IEC website to get the latest news on the preparations for the elections.

Expats who have registered to vote may vote at embassies overseas on Saturday 27th of April, 2019.

Please remember that every vote counts.
