Save Businesses in the North East of Scotland!

Businesses in the North East of Scotland are facing enormous increases in non-domestic rates following the 2015 revaluation completed before the full impact of the downturn in the local economy hit the commercial property market.
Businesses from a range of sectors including hospitality, oil and gas, engineering and retail will be affected by a rates hike. Local publicans are facing an increase in their bills of up to 259%, while oil service firms are similarly looking at increases of up to 218%. Many businesses are warning they will go to the wall!
We the undersigned are calling for expedient and meaningful action from the SNP Government to help north east companies hit by substantial hikes in their business rates; and urge the SNP Government to provide a solution to ease pressure on the local economy, which is already struggling due to the downturn in oil and gas.
Sign this petition to protect our businesses from the business rate hike!
