The response to the #JusticeForChunky campaign is completely overwhelming, I made the petition in the middle of the night prior to my holiday. I never in my life thought I would get this many signatures. I’m touched by the people of the UK who have taken such an interest in this petition. I’m grateful to the media for publicising it though the various newspapers and news stations. I can’t thank everyone enough for their help and support with this petition. The UK government cannot ignore 500,000 signatures from the public which wish to see a national database of animal abusers. If the UK can have a sex offender's registry, then there can be an animal abuser register. Research in psychology and criminology shows that people who commit acts of cruelty to animals don’t stop there—many of them move on to their fellow humans. Murderers … very often start out by killing and torturing animals as kids.
