Public safety is always a concern and yet every year hundreds if not thousands of people are injured or even killed by fireworks!? I am also a pet owner. Every year we have an absolute nightmare trying to reassure our dogs and cats to stay calm, and try to let them know there is nothing to worry about, to no avail. It is heart breaking to see our pets absolutely petrified of these strange loud bangs going on!? And that's not even taking into consideration the wild animals too!? It's also shocking the times people think is OK to set off these fireworks too.
The early hours of the morning or even throughout the day. There really is no reason why the local councils cannot hold a public event each year to set off fireworks, at a reasonable time!?
This way it is controlled by professionals with a much less strain on the fire brigade, hospitals and police. Surely this is also a money saver for the public pocket too!?
Please ban the sale of fireworks to the public!
