JLo's Mission - Extortionate Vet Bills for Sick Pets

I have a King Charles Spaniel, who has suffered a number of major illnesses over the years. She has recovered from all of them, but I have spent over £40,000 in veterinary bills. Whilst I appreciate the care that my dog has had, I am on benefits and have struggled to pay these bills, in fact, if it wasn't for the generosity of my friends I do not know how I would have kept going.
I think that the current way that Vets charge for the care of animals is wrong. Most Vets seem to think about money before the care of the animal, to the point of refusing care unless money is paid up-front.
Any pet owner will know that insurance cover is limited, once a pet has suffered from an illness then that cover is withdrawn, meaning that they will not pay out if there is a repeat of the illness. Vets seem to work hand-in-hand with the insurance companies in trying to extract as much money as possible from the pet owner.
I think that it is time that some sort of control was put in place to stop this practice taking place. The Government needs to investigate the link between the Vets and the Insurance Companies. There needs to be an proper rules put into place to make sure that pet owners are treated fairly and properly at the time when they are vulnerable.
