We are very pleased to announce that our community campaign to re-instate Duke’s Head Passage as a shared path for all park users has been successful. New signs will be on display this week asking all users to show mutual consideration and respect. We would like to thank all who have actively supported the campaign through this change.org petition, the local media (The Richmond and Twickenham Times, the Evening Standard, Radio Jackie, the Surrey Comet), local community forums (The Hamptonite, Hampton People’s Network and Teddington Town) and Richmond Cycling Campaign, amongst many others. Thanks also to Cllr Gareth Roberts and Vince Cable MP for their active support. We would also like to thank The Royal Parks’ leaders, Richmond Borough Council, and SUSTRANS for listening to the community and for their constructive collaboration over many months, resulting in a sensible solution. As the path reopens to all, we urge cyclists and walkers alike to enjoy Duke’s Head Passage whilst remaining mindful of the needs of each and every park user.
