Thanks to all for your great support! Well over 1000 have now signed the petition from across Hampton, Teddington, Kingston, Twickenham and beyond. In recent weeks we have had excellent coverage and support including: - A front page story in the Surrey Comet. - Cllr. Gareth Roberts joining us on the path to hand out flyers. - Vince Cable urging people to sign the petition. - Feature articles in Teddington and Hampton local community forums. However, we have a long way to go. Every day we are becoming more concerned about the safety of cyclists - including school children - now seen diverting around Bushy Park onto well known accident blackspot A308/311 roads. Take a look at the shocking statistics (attached). This is an accident waiting to happen! Alas, Royal Parks are still digging their heels in, not willing to listen to the community or reconsider their imposed and dangerous cycling ban. So what next? We have requested a meeting ASAP with The Royal Parks Chief Executive (Andrew Scattergood) and Deputy Chief Executive (Colin Buttery) to deliver our community petition in person. You can help make the case by adding your voice in a short email direct to: ascattergood@royalparks.gsi.gov.uk and cbuttery@royalparks.gsi.gov.uk We will of course keep you posted on the outcomes. Many thanks!
