The use of support adults will help healthcare workers workloads!

It’s no secret that nurses are underpaid and overworked. So why make their jobs harder with these outdated policies?
Allowing postpartum mothers with their newborns a support adult after birth regardless of who is admitted to hospital for care will ease the workload of healthcare workers.
Whilst I was alone I had to waste a Children’s Ward nurse to watch my baby whilst I simply went to the toilet as I did not want to leave him alone. The use of this nurse was a waste when I knew there were sicker and other children on the ward who needed them more than me, but because of the policy I had no choice but to use them for the safety of my baby.
Let’s help support the nurses and healthcare workers to ensure this benefits them as much as the parents of newborns!
