Dear Prime Minister Modi,  

we fear your colleagues are in a hurry to make "Hindi" as rashtriya basha. India is not a country, it is united states. It consists many religion, It consists many races, like it consists many languages.

With concern about the recent announcements for usage of Hindi by various ministries of the Government of India, I am writing this to let you know that this move by Government Of India is resulting in grave inconvenience to crores of non-Hindi speaking Indians.

As i am a 'Tamilian', you are a 'Gujarati'. I think, you speaks Gujarati only in your home, as we speak Tamil in our home.  So you must know and feel our pulse.  

The Official Language Act accords a higher status to Hindi and English by making them the official connecting languages of the Union. Government of India actively pursues the policy of encouraging the spread of Hindi in all the offices of Government of India resulting in non Hindi languages getting sidelined from the spheres of administration and public service even in non Hindi states. 

Government of India's "Hindi and English only" policy is effectively putting crores of non Hindi speakers to a disadvantage and is creating a sense of alienation among speakers of non Hindi languages. 

We fear that such a discriminatory language policy will end up dividing Indians speaking different languages than uniting them.   We have "Russia" as example for this policy. you know, Russia disintegrated as many countries mainly because of language policy.

Our former Chief Minister Dr.Kalaingar raised his voice immideatly against imposition, once your people started the work and wrote a letter to you. Chief Minister Jayalalitha and all partry leaders also registered thier opposition. 

As from your speeches, people are in a mindset that you will be empathetic towards the concerns of citizens, we hope you will take cognizance of this grave injustice and take action to safeguard & nurture all languages of India on par with Hindi and English. Linguistic equality will foster a greater sense of unity among Indians speaking different languages.  

1.Make changes in the official languages act to include all languages present in the 8th schedule of the Constitution and declare them as official languages of the Indian Union.

2. Ask your colleagues to stop the hurried actions to impose Hindi through social media
