Today I am in the mood to share with you all that is happening with the petition ‘Justice for Alexia’. I am sorry about the long silence but you will understand that it is not easy for me to keep going into this topic. Most times I walk into the house and expecting to hear her voice or even see her sitting on the carpet with her numerous toys and playing. That won’t happen ever and so I have to change and accept it won’t happen. I am trying. Till this day and with your help and support we have successfully secured close to 11,000 signatures to the ‘Justice for Alexia’s' petition. Once again I say a big thank you to all of you out there for taking time to read my sad story and supporting my quest for justice and fairness.. You will recall that 4 months ago when I updated our friends and I mentioned that our plan or next line of action was to fix a time and a date to present the petition to the then Prime Minister, David Cameron and hopefully he will act in our favour but as Teresa May unexpectedly took over, we were told to hold on to it for Mrs. May to settle into office before we could be slotted into her schedule. We all know she has been very busy since taking over in the mist of Brexit and all. I wish her all the best. I was eventually given the all clear to do the presentation, however, just then I got a letter from Legal Aid through my solicitor stating that “the Exceptional Cases Funding Team” have reviewed my application and decided that this is a matter that the Legal aid agency can fund. What a sign of relief. But I have to pay the amount I receive from Legal Aid back to them at the conclusion of my case; this they say is called “statutory charge” but in a way I see it as a loan without interest. To an extent I am happy that at least I will have a barrister to represent me at the inquest and I thank you all for your efforts in helping secure this Legal Loan.
