MR. PRESIDENT....PLEASE STOP THE NIA REGISTRATION EXERCISE

MR. PRESIDENT....PLEASE STOP THE NIA REGISTRATION EXERCISE
The Issue
Following the announcement of four(4) new COVID-19 in Ghana, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo proactively announced enhanced measures by suspending all public gatherings. Currently, Ghana has recorded seven cases of the novel virus infection even as contact tracing continues unabated. Just yesterday, three Ghanaians living in Italy and Copenhagen were reported died by Ghana's Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The COVID-19 pandemic is no longer a matter of 'buts' or 'ifs' where Ghana should assume a russian roulette disposition. To this end, we call on the President to stop the ongoing National Identification Authority's (NIA) registration exercise; as the obstinate character of the NIA leadership increases the tendency of a community transmission.
It is needless to reiterate that a community transmission in our towns, cities and slums will wreck indescribable havoc. And since the rush to still pursue this exercise leads to no vaccine but a blind political alley, it becomes our collective responsibility to ensure that the safety of all Ghanaians is prioritized.
THE NIA REGISTRATION CAN WAIT.
