Dear Mr Bayer,

I hope this email finds you well. First, I want to thank you for your ongoing support of Pembroke Pines Charter High School’s diverse student programs.

I am writing to you today as a proud PPCHS parent to address a growing concern regarding the marching band’s access to the football field for rehearsals. As you know, our marching ensemble is a premier, state-ranking program that represents PPCHS with incredible distinction. Marching band is a highly coordinated, physically rigorous activity where students learn complex visual drill formations.

Currently, it appears the field schedule heavily prioritizes the football and soccer teams, frequently leaving the marching band without a safe or adequate space to rehearse. While we fully support our athletic teams and want them to succeed, the marching band students deserve equitable access to the school facilities funded to serve our entire student body.

Because the competitive season is tightly packed, we would love to collaborate on a fair, structured solution. Could we look into establishing a master field calendar that guarantees the band uninterrupted priority on the field for just two specific afternoons a week?

I started a petition just to show that many parents agree with my point of view. https://www.change.org/supportpinescharterband I have collected over 300 signatures so far.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can make this work smoothly for all programs. The school's state-ranking music program lacks equal access to municipal-funded school facilities. In case there is no possible solution, would you mind coming with me to the City Commission meeting on Wednesday October 21 so that we can together ask Mayor Castillo and the commissioners to turn the fenced parking lot next to the football field into the band lot.  With your support I believe we can get it done. Parents, the board, the boosters, the director and you, the principal have to come together and try to get what's best for the kids.

It doesn't matter where they get to practice, it matters that they get to practice

Thank you for your time, leadership, and dedication to ensuring all PPCHS students have the resources they need to thrive.

Warm regards,

Cesar Roman
