Thank you all for your support! The response has been overwhelming. From Portsmouth, to Washington DC, to Brazil and Syria, Dio fans and metalheads the world over have turned out to #BuildDio A lot of questions have come up about funding for this project, and yes there will likely be a fundraising effort, but this is also an excellent opportunity to test Portsmouth's commitment to public art. Theoretically, public arts projects in Portsmouth should enjoy both moral and material support from the city. Let's see if we can't make that happen or help make it happen in the future. ArtSpeak, our local cultural commission, does great work promoting the arts in our city, and they're currently in the last days of a fundraising effort for their #TinyBitHuge campaign, which you should check out.
