Over two thousand supporters

2146 at last count, some might sling off at that number but if we were in voice in one meeting it would be powerful. Every person counts. It would seem that momentum for real reform is building. The $600,000 pa CEO of CASA has left after less than two years into a five year term. We mushrooms have been told he's left for "personal reasons", if you needed proof of how arrogant your government is towards us then this is it, zero accountability. Taxpayers and the fee paying aviation community and industry will waste more thousands just to find a replacement, let alone the hiatus and time wasting. Nero was said to fiddle whilst Rome burnt. We have yet to find out if the fire brigade is on its way but maybe this is a sign that our message is seeping into the consciousness of the body politic. The new CEO should insist on some amendments to the Act and realise that times have changed. We no longer accept that to fly is a Crown given privilege. As free people it is our right to fly with minimum interference. We will gladly accept sensible flight rules in the manner of road rules. We do not accept thousands of criminal sanctions of strict liability for trivial or minor transgressions that should not have existed in the first place. We do not accept that a super stringent and expensive aviation medical regime is good for safety, efficiency or the prosperity of aviation in this country. Since the beginning of this petition independent research has shown that active Private Pilots have fallen in the last few years by more than 30%, we believe much of this huge fall is due to the outrageous demands of AVMED. AOPA Australia is fighting to redress this appalling situation. Call your mates and your various associations and get on board, now to maintain your freedom to fly is the time to do something. Contact your MP, phone, write and speak wherever and to anyone. Best regards to you all and good flying, Sandy Reith
