If you knew the Black Cap well, we'd like to have a chat with you – it could help us protect the Cap from redevelopment. Huge thanks to everyone who has got in touch already. We're still keen to hear from more of you before the deadline of 22 March!
One of the Black Cap's crucial planning protections is being challenged and Camden Council urgently need input from people who knew the Cap well. If you spent a lot of time at the Black Cap, and especially if you were familiar with how the business worked and how the building was used, your insights could be vital. That's why we would love to talk to you and about the Council's questions on the different ways the building was used.
So if you were a long-time customer, a resident performer, or a senior or long-serving member of staff at the Cap, please get in touch and we'll arrange to sit down with you in person or give you a call some time in the next couple of weeks. We'll go through the Council's questionnaire with you and note down your answers so that they can be submitted (with your approval of course) to the planning department. You can see the questions, and some more detail about why this is happening, at bit.ly/BlackCapQuestions (Of course if you prefer, you can complete the questionnaire yourself, either using that link or using the online survey from Camden LGBT Forum that some of you may have seen)
Please do get in touch (e-mail us at archive@weareblackcap.com) and have a chat with us: your memories could be the key that saves the Black Cap from asset-stripping and redevelopment.
And thank you for your enormous support!
