The Ham and High, who have been running a long term investigation into closed and converted pubs, and offshore financing, have named the original backers of Stephen Cox's company Kicking Horse Ltd (Jersey)'s attempts to buy, close and convert The Black Cap (along with 5 other classicly-built Mitchells & Butlers pubs). They are Russian oligarchs Alexander Abramov and Alexander Frolov. Abramov is a close friend of Chelsea FC's Roman Abramovich.
