(Re-sent to include Ham and High Link) Dear all, An exciting development today. The Ham and High, who have been running a long term investigation into closed and converted pubs, and offshore financing, have named the original backers of Stephen Cox's company Kicking Horse Ltd (Jersey)'s attempts to buy, close and convert The Black Cap (along with 5 other classicly-built Mitchells & Butlers pubs). They are Russian oligarchs Alexander Abramov and Alexander Frolov. Abramov is a close friend of Chelsea FC's Roman Abramovich. Story at: http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/news/calls_to_reopen_iconic_black_cap_pub_as_links_to_russian_billionaires_offshore_cash_revealed_1_4923200 The Ham and High sourced their material from Transparency International's (TI) report on overseas corruption and UK house prices and the gentrification or attempted gentrification of community places like the Black Cap. In case anyone missed that it is at: https://issuu.com/transparencyuk/docs/faulty_towers_ti-uk_web_01-03-17 TI in turn drew most of their research from us - who in turn got lots of help from you! (You may remember the crowdsourcing for information emails we sent out seeking your help late last year - that worked incredibly well, and thanks to the people who stepped forward to offer their services too.) Can we ask if you can spread the Ham and High article widely to let as many people see who it was behind the financing and closure of The Black Cap, and really heap pressure on Mr Cox to re-open it for the LGBT+ Community, or sell, or lease it to someone who will. And thanks again for everything you do! We Will Win. With best wishes Alex, Aoife, Ben, Chris, Nigel and Zack
