Economic development diverts money from schools and officials are unqualified.

The City subsidized Dicks Sporting Goods and then consequently, Dunhams and MC Sports closed. The persons making our economic development decisions are not educated or qualified in economic development. They're making fast and loose decisions based on their own personal views. Also when there are existing profitable businesses, the role of the city should not be to fund one over the other. If there were no other businesses in this category then that might be a different story. It's been established that locally owned businesses give more back to the community than chain and big box stores. Also I believe the property tax dollars and income tax dollars being spent on economic development should go towards bolstering our failing school system.
