Save The Montague Arms and keep it as a live music venue!

The Montague Arms in south London shut its doors a few days ago, with promoters and staff none the wiser as to the plans for its future. Gastropub? Flats? Who cares? It needs to be a venue—it’s one of the best we have south of the river and to say they are a rare breed is to be awarded the Understatement of the U.K. Award 2018. If you think we need more decent venues in London, not less, please make your feelings known to the mysterious and secretive forces behind this depressing closure.
It’s Independent Venue Week next week, and only a few months ago the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, was saying “Pubs across the capital are often at the heart of our communities or of historic value and should be protected by local authorities in order to protect the capital’s unique character.” Yet here we are again. So if you don’t want it go to quietly, please tell your friends, enemies, aunties and selves to sign this petition!
