Return the title of "Professor Emeritus" to Dr. Walter Lewin and return his courses to the MIT website

     Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in the world of "1984"? In East Germany? In Salem, Massachusetts? Where one anonymous email from one possibly disturbed person, as we saw with the University of Virginia / "Rolling Stone" hoax, can destroy the reputation you've built up over your entire life? 

     Hyperbole?

     An anonymous woman accused Dr. Walter Lewin, a retired professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with "sexual harassment" via an online course.  MIT responded by stripping Dr. Lewin of his "professor emeritus" title and removing his lectures from its website, instead of either doing nothing or keeping the matter confidential.

     Please sign the petition and spread the word. One "Shirtgate" is enough of a blow to physics in one year.
