Fight Back Against The Meadows Neighborhood Company’s Fees And The President of the HOA

The Issue

My name is Scott Brown, and I have grown up in The Meadows since we first moved here when I was in 1st grade. I went to Meadow View Elementary, then Castle Rock Middle School, then Castle View High School. Currently I am going to college at the University of Colorado, Denver to seek a degree in Economics and become the first person in my direct family to achieve a bachelor's degree from an accredited university. I have taken part in town events since I was younger including spending time in Cub Scouts, joining the Douglas County Sheriff Explorer's Program in high school, dedicated more than double the required time in high school for voluntary community service, and have been an intern at the Castle Rock Police Department before graduating early from high school.

The Meadow's Community Association, and by extension the Meadows Neighborhood Company in Castle Rock, Colorado was created to ensure our community would create a mutual agreement to support each other with necessities and town image. As of late this Homeowner's Association has sought to increase their revenue by fining our community members for little things that don't even break HOA policy all the time. They continually abuse our rights of private ownership and it is a disgrace to the entire community.

With the current expansion of Castle Rock into a larger and larger town, it becomes necessary to fight back against these unjust fines that target not only our current and longtime residents, but also to defend our incoming residents that want to join our growing community; which is one of the safest and best communities in the country that continually is ranked as one of the top places to live in the nation. Fining new and all previous residents is not the way to keep a town or neighborhood in a good standing. When you continually fine or punish you tell the community that they are not welcome, not appreciated, and don't deserve to be seen as a member of the Town of Castle Rock.

The current positions of the Meadows HOA proves that they don't want to become an even better community, and instead seek to punish us for being residents.
