The Blue-Naped Parrot, Tanygnathus lucionensis has not been seen in most of its original range. Destruction of habitat and poaching has reduced its range to a few spots in Borneo and the Philippines. There is a small colony in Tanjung Aru and is considered by experts to be the best hope for this species in Borneo. But this beach is slotted to be developed in March, 2017 into commercial and residential units as well as a marina and a golf course. The Blue-Naped Parrot needs your signatures to tell the Mayor of Kota Kinabalu to stop the development of Tanjung Aru.
