Hello, all supporters. I'm sure you alll know by now that the Armidale Regional Council did pass a motion, unanimously, to declare a climate emergency for our local council region. This means that a report needs to be compiled, by February 2020, identifying short-, medium- amd long-term goals. This will be a joint effort by the council's sustainablity committee and members of the community. The next steps will be to see how that will work. We will also collaborate very closely with the ARC/UNE ProjectZero30 to get the maximum benefit from the skillset available in our region. Since last Wenesday, when the motion was passed, it is very gratifying to see that people are still signing the petition, with 900 signatures to date. However, to avoid confusion, I think that is best that we declare a very welcome victory, with thanks to so many people, including the councillors themselves, and declare this petition over. Now let the hard but welcome work begin.
