We now have 746 signatures, not including those being gathered on hard-copy petitions. Well done! Since my last update, several more councils in NSW have declared a climate emergency.

We will wait until after the Student Strike for Climate event on 20th September, to try to boost our numbers even further, before we submit to the Armidale Regional Council. I have also asked the Armidale Region Ratepayers Association to spread the word. Their executive is considering my request. If you can, please get along to the next ARRA meeting (23rd September) to exert a little pressure.

With the number of councils coming on board, ARC really has no reason to reject our petition.
