NEW LLANELLI SKATEPARK

With the recent news of Ramps relocating it has left a massive void in the Llanelli skate / scooter scene leaving many riders without a place to call home.

The skateboarding scene stretches back 30 years+ in this town and has never been stronger, with the emergence of scootering in the last few years there is a massive demand for a park to be built. Being that skateboarding is now an olympic sport, it is about time that proper facilities are built to encourage people to develop their skills and to potentially become olympic athletes.

Skateboarding / Scootering has many benefits - it helps people with mental health issues, gives people a focus and keeps them out of trouble. We believe that having a quality skatepark - not one of metal shanty ramps that get taken away anyway - will seriously improve the quality of life of many residents in this town. Llanelli unfortunately is a deprived area with a lot of anti social behaviour, drug abuse and unfortunately too high suicide rates. We genuinely believe this park will help encourage people to focus negative energy and turn it into a positive through a discipline of their choice - Skateboarding, BMX, Scootering etc.
