Dear Supporters
Yesterday the Labour Party won it's appeal overturning the win for 5 Labour Party members challenging the decision to impose a voting cut off point for new members. It appears the appeal was won by relying on an obscure clause in the rules book which allows the NEC to ignore all the rules if it wants to. This makes a mockery of the rule book and raises concerns about what other rules they could decide to disregard , for example on equality. In addition the court ruled that the 5 must pay £30000 of the Labour Party's costs so not only have they taken £25 from thousands of people unfairly & unjustly what ever the judges concluded.
A very sad day for democracy but whilst they may have won the appeal they have not won hearts and minds and the movement in support of Jeremy Corbyn grows daily.
Earlier this week I and other Labour Party members who paid the £25 fee appeared on the Victoria Derbyshire Show to speak about this. You can watch the report here at approximately 1 hour and 31 minutes in.

Tom Watson has disgracefully described people joining Labour as infiltrators who are manipulating younger members when in truth those who have joined recently have done so because in Jeremy Corbyn & John McDonnell they found hope.
In the meantime there are many people who cannot afford £25 and are being denied their democratic and contractual rights to vote.
This is yet another reason why we need to stand up for a Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn's leadership that will represent the interests of a broad range of people , against injustice, discrimination, poverty and austerity and for equality and rights.
Martin Luther King said: "I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant."
