With Putrajaya declaring the 9th of May 2018 as a public holiday, our petition is ceasing. It is to be said, though, that there is no proof as yet that this decision was made due to our petition. Hence, we can only claim a moral victory, where what we wanted was achieved probably independently. At this junction, I must thank all our supporters who, at this, number over 120,000. People like you are the reason why participatory democracy exists and is essential for it to work properly. I must also thank the Prime Minister's Office for invoking the Holidays Act of 1951 and declaring this holiday. This is a testament to the openness and clear support of the executive in ameliorating participatory democracy. Finally, I would like to thank the Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V for His Majesty's time but since there is no reason for His Majesty to respond in any way anymore, we would like to leave this matter as it stands. Ampun Tuanku! As usual, if in the course of attempting to help the rakyat I have erred in any way, I deeply apologise and hope that all who were offended rightly to forgive me. My intentions were pure, I assure you, as were the 120,000 people who co-signed this petition. With that, I bid everyone a happy voting period and say goodbye! http://m.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/putrajaya-declares-may-9-a-holiday
