Problem
In Jamaica you are only allowed to import cars up to 5 years old. This definitely affects the Jamaican people because, there is no advantage to the citizens of the country as we do not produce cars. The mere fact that there is a mandatory inspection means that there is no reason to ban the importation of these cars once they have passed the inspection. The Jamaican government needs to do something about this dated ban.
Solution
The Jamaican government needs to allow for cars to be imported up to 10-15 years old. There is no disadvantage to doing so. Cars are being imported nonetheless, why not allow for cars that are still deemed as modern and have passed the mandatory inspection, even though they have passed the 5 year mark, to be imported.
