Animal abuse affects everyone.  People who are convicted of animal abuse are given lenient jail time if any and or a fine.  We would like to see a national registry for people convicted of animal abuse.  This should be a deterrent for animal abusers and help protect animals of all kinds from abuse.  Animals are not property, they are someone's loved one and should be treated as such.  Stiffer penalties are needed to protect these family members.
