Animal Rights Day-Raising Awareness about Animal Cruelty

The Issue

Animal cruelty is a very real and current problem. Many people are either uneducated on the issue or choose to disregard the millions of accounts of animal cruelty that happen each day. Some animals continue to be put in horrific and tragic conditions that cause severe illness, trauma, pain, dismemberment or even death.

This petition hopes to raise awareness about animal cruelty and subsequently to decrease the incidents of animal abuse and cruelty. Animals of every species deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Having a dedicated day to raising awareness for animal cruelty will allow people to discuss this horrific act and make changes. Also, school age children can visit farms, zoos and animal shelters. This day will promote discussion in schools and will serve to prevent future animal cruelty. We also ask that the government bring this to the attention of the United Nations, so that other countries can follow.
