On January 31 of 2015, Mustafa Ururyar attempted to break up with his casual sexual partner Mandi Gray. After he agreed to a round of sympathy sex, she charged him with sexual assault. Mustafa was convicted by a Judge who many legal observers believe in insane. Despite Mr Ururyar's evidence, the prosecutors fought his continued bail for no visible reason. They wasted the resources of an overbooked court system, and spent thousands of tax dollars on a case so flimsy the Toronto Police did not want to pursue it.
Mr Ururyar has since had his conviction overturned in appeal by Justice Dambrot. Judge Dambrot correctly described Ururyar's conviction by Marvin Zuker as incomprehensible.
The accuser - Mandi Gray waived her legal right to anonymity. She has used her claim against Ururyar to launch a speaking career, produce a documentary, and is attempting to blackmail York University into giving her a job.
Gray has repeatedly stated that she has contempt for the legal system. She claims her motive in going to police was only to remove Ururyar from campus, following his attempt to break up with her.
Further prosecution of Ururyar would be obviously malicious. It would also would undermine public confidence in the Canadian Legal System, and waste tax dollars and the scarce resources of the courts.
Please stop the prosecution of Mustafa Ururyar. He agreed in 2015 to have sex with Mandi Gray at her initiation, and against his own wishes, and he has suffered enough.
