VOTE TJ McInturff and Victoria Wright for Simi City Council

Both T.J. McInturff and Victoria Catherine Wright, candidates for City Council, know that qualified patients with a doctor's recommendation should be able to grow their own God-given medicine, as permitted by California Law. In 1996 the people of California and a MAJORITY IN SIMI VALLEY voted to allow patients to grow their own medicine, for their own use, and it has been the law for 20 years. Last March, our City Council voted 3-2 to deny this right to the patients who need it most. Our neighboring communities, Moorpark, Ventura County, and Ventura City specifically protect patient rights under their laws. Retiring Council Member Steve Sojka, and Council Member / law enforcement officer Mike Judge know this, and strongly support the right to private patient cultivation. The new ban in Simi Valley has adversely affected patients. Those include seniors, veterans, terminally ill, and those on a fixed income. People have serious medical conditions such as pain, autoimmune disorders, PTSD, epilepsy, MS, neuropathy, and other conditions where this medicine is known to help. Many patients are either without transportation or cannot afford prices at the dispensaries in Los Angeles to obtain their medicine. TJ McInturff and Victoria Wright are the ONLY candidates who support this State law. All other candidates running for City Council will keep the ban preventing patients from meeting their own medical needs! Private cultivation has NEVER been an issue nor has caused ANY PROBLEMS. T.J. McInturff holds a degree in Political Science from Cal State University. He and his family are well-rooted in our community. He connects with both younger and older voters. His focus and goals are on safety, a strong thriving community, and KEEPING DRUGS OFF OUR STREETS. TJ is an avid supporter of education. Victoria Wright, daughter of Cathy Wright, the late, beloved, State Senator and former Mayor of Simi Valley, believes in siding with the voters on any issue which has already been voted on. Mayor Bob Huber said at a recent City Council meeting that Victoria is "a chip off the old block, so we are very proud of her." Wright has a degree in criminal justice. Victoria Wright puts it this way in an interview published in the Simi Valley Acorn. “We haven’t stopped the pot coming into the city because people are buying it and bringing it back (making it clear she is against legalization for recreational use)... but what bothers me the most is (the council) took away the ability for individuals who are sick to grow their own.
