Stop DEDJTR killing the landlocked Epping kangaroos and relocate them instead
The issue
A brave group of wildlife activists intervened in the shooting of a large mob of kangaroos landlocked by development sites in Epping. While 22 kangaroos were killed the shooters were forced to stop their operation.
The Australian Society for Kangaroos, ASK, are taking the Departments DEDJTR, DELWP and the Minister Lily D'Ambrosio to the Supreme Court next week to seek a stop to the killings and to implement the relocation of the kangaroos.
DEDJTR's claims the kangaroos suffer ill health but this is disputed. Their concern for the kangaroos health was proven false by the closing of gates which denied the kangaroos access to water for a month. After no response from DEDJTR, ASK then contacted the RSPCA and the gates were finally opened last week.
These kangaroos are now helpless victims of imminent development and their relocation is urgent. Please sign this petition to call on the state government to relocate these kangaroos, as a duty care and not to just shoot them.
