Thank you to everyone who signed this petition. Doing so meant that The Education Minister and The Premier of Victoria both received over 1,400 individual emails, putting enormous pressure on their tree felling plans. Your emails also helped us raise attention of the press, and we were graced with TV crews from most of the major stations on Monday, as well as many newspapers. None of this would have been possible without your help. We thank the media for the ongoing support. We would also like to thank our wonderful and selfless Beaumaris Conservation Societies President Gregory Mier and the amazingly dedicated Heather Stewart. Other key players were Imogen Miller, Shelley Durance, Titia Huggard, Carla Murley, Clarke Martin, Kathy Fletcher, Alina Ovadia, Amy Davidson, Jason Davidson, Murray Thompson and many others whose passion was just great to be around. We would also like to thank Lisa Grant for allowing us to communicate through The Hub and for all her support. Presently we have negotiated with the VSBA to stop all tree felling until we meet with them. We will discuss many aspects of the project in relation to the trees, vegetation and wildlife at this time. As stated today, we totally support the new College but feel the tree removal aspect of it was not transparent to a major stakeholder, the community. We need to stay united as a Community on this cause to preserve our very special suburb. So proud to be part of such a wonderful community and to lead by example for our Children. Proving that if you feel passionately about a cause, it is worth standing up for. We now wait for the Meeting of Experts to be scheduled this week, which will be followed by a community meeting, where the Beaumaris Community and VSBA will consult together, and discuss the plans.
