Yesterday it was confirmed the Australian Veterinary Association, Greencross Vets and the Lort Smith Dogs home as well as the Pet industry Association of Australia, support our position that Pet Grooming is vital for the welfare of pets and their families in lockdown. That Veterinary clinics cannot cope with the demand and are often not equipped or capable of offering pet grooming. They are heavily booked doing essential veterinary work.
The media asked Dan Andrews yesterday on international dog day when groomers could open, on live tv and he stated he doesn’t want to see groomers driving from house to house. This is a prime example of the ignorance of our Government of how our profession works. There are also fixed premises who provide grooming services. We contain dogs, therefore we can keep people outside easily.
Both Fixed premises and Mobile are quite capable of keeping people out as we keep dogs in. We can safely operate in a contactless manner using gates at Fixed premises or homes. We do not need contact with people.
There is no reason to continue to force pets and their families to suffer. We can operate as safely as a a click and collect service. #clipncollect
