Inhumane Treatment and Abuse at Havasupai

Inhumane Treatment and Abuse at Havasupai
The Issue
On going gross negligence and abuse of the horses, mules and donkeys of the the Havasupai Tribe in Arizona seems to continue with no legitimate intervention by tribal nor state or federal agencies. This seems to be their standard and its got to stop.
Day in, day out, these animals perform incredibly grueling work shuttling people and supplies a round trip of eight to ten miles year round (even during desert summers where temperatures easily cross 100 degrees) to the Havasupai Tribe's village which has thrived in recent years given the tourism generated by the world famous waterfalls there.
As demand increases and fees to visit double and triple year after year, the Havasupai Tribe must be forced to take accountability for this or face serious consequences. This is brutal beyond belief as the state and tribe turn a blind eye to this incredible neglect. Included is the link that brought this to my attention recently: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw3Rv26FJIU/?igshid=1mc7o3udr52te
Late last year, I personally visited and saw first hand the work these animals do. They deserve stellar treatment in return, and we should demand it and call for a strict ultimatum.
Please do what you can to help, sign this petition and pass it on.
We can also contact the people involved and agencies responsible directly. I encourage all to do so. See here:
